Date night

John and I were actually able to go out to eat last night....without the kids! Yeah! It was definitely overdue. We had a great dinner at Swagat Indian Restaurant. But, after 10 years of marriage, it gets more and more difficult to come up with interesting conversation. I was reminded last night of an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond (love that show), when Ray and Debra are out to dinner and they too have trouble finding anything but the kids to talk about. So they end up making conversation about the delicious bread and butter the waiter brings to the table. Well, last night for some reason our conversation headed down the wrong path. We discussed "What would you choose for your last meal if you were on death row" and "What would be your preferred 'way to go' ". What the heck?!? It was actually quite funny, but oh my! I think we need to double next time. Anyone interested???

Swimming with Great Grandpa

How many kids can say they swam with their Great Grandpa!? Not many I'm sure. We had a great time with Grandpa, and we successfully wore the kids out at the same time.

I feel for you mom and dad...

I never would have thought 2 years ago that we could ever have handled 6 kids at church without totally losing our minds. We had another sleepover with Micheala and Mariah's sisters and brought them to church with us on Sunday. Six kids age 8 and under! Twelve sunday shoes to track down, five little dresses, 6 heads of hair to fix, 6 baths to take, items to entertain during sacrament, two cars to drive to church (can't fit 8 in our van), but lots and lots of fun. It may not have been our most reverent sacrament meeting, but they actually did great. I don't know how my parents did it every sunday for so many years though!!

4th of July in Parkville

Since I work every weekend, I was not too excited about the 4th this year. Since it was on a saturday I knew I would either be sleeping or working right through it. Friday night I ended up getting off work early and so the next day we were able to spend a few hours together before I had to go back to work that night. Parkville has the cutest little town fair every 4th, we've been to it on a few occasions. They have a carnival set up with rides that I always question, "How can these be safe when they are assembled, unassembled, then reassembled in every town they travel too???" They also have yummy, fattening carnival food. We had fun riding a few rides, then pigging out on kettle corn.

"Regular" kid stuff

Although there are some areas of development that Wyatt is trying to catch up on....I love when I just catch him doing "regular" kid stuff. You just tend to forget about the struggles and laugh at the moment!

Hmmmmm......what might we find in here....
