This boy needs a dog!

We do not have good luck with pets. We had two cats die in our first two years of marriage. We had a dog at one point, but he had to "go live with his mommy" (at least as far as Saige is concerned). The other day we "dog sat" our neighbors pooch and, despite our past history, I think this boy needs a dog! Wyatt immediately started panting like a dog, and chased Truman around this entire house the whole time he was here. The stumbling block, John. I've got some major convincing to do. Any ideas?

When I watched him all he wanted to do was play in the basement and look at our dogs through their crates. I think I told you that he even got in our spare crate. :) You can dog sit Sunny or Tucker the next time we go away if you want a trial run. :)

And I have to add that Abbie LOVES her doggies. It's crazy how aware she is of them and their "schedule." And they are very protective of her... so sweet. I'm pro-pets, but I have to admit that they are a burden sometimes. They are one more thing that need your attention and it's hard to just up and leave to go places even over night. (And it's not like paying a sitter when you're gone... it's $30-$40 bucks a night!) Maybe I'm not helping here... :)

All of my girls went through a stage where they acted like dogs. Our baby was the worst. She would crawl around the floor for days on end only talking and barking in dog language. If we took her to the store she would crawl on the floor and try to lick people's legs. It was a little crazy. We didn't get a dog until the girls were old enough to help take care of one. It has been one of the best things we've done. We really did our research before we got her and chose a breed that we thought would work for us. She is a handful but we love her. Sometimes she drives me crazy but it's been worth it. You are welcome to borrow her whenever you want. :)

Dogs are considered good therapy, right? A dog is good for your family!

I think.

We have a dog . . . and a cat . . . I'm not a big pet person, but the kids are, and there are more of them than there are of me. :)

Good luck!

I got nothing. James is not a pet person. So our poor kids will most likely be pet deprived. I have had no luck changing his mind. I haven't tried that hard since we are busy people and I know I would be the one taking care of the animal. Sorry no help.
